How Does the VSDS + VASD System Work?
The Vehicle Speed Detection System (VSDS) uses advanced radar or AI-powered video analytics to continuously monitor vehicles across multiple lanes. As each vehicle passes, the system measures its speed in real time and verifies whether it is within the prescribed limits. If the vehicle exceeds the threshold, the integrated Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera captures its license plate along with time, location, and lane details. Simultaneously, the Vehicle Actuated Speed Display (VASD) provides instant feedback to the driver by displaying the vehicle’s speed on a roadside digital board—typically in green if within limits and in red with a flashing warning if overspeeding. All violation events are automatically transmitted to the central ATMS Control Center, where the data is stored, analyzed, and compiled into detailed reports for monitoring and enforcement.
